Big First Inning Leads Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures Past Cardinal Mooney Catholic

Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures defeated Cardinal Mooney Catholic 16-0 on Thursday thanks in part to 10 runs in the first inning. Sasha Walker grounded out, scoring one run, Emma Behnke tripled, scoring one run, Elanor Barnes singled, scoring one run, Zemma Kenny was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Abbey Jones drew a walk, scoring one run, Leah Rovner singled, scoring one run, Walker drew a walk, scoring one run, Behnke doubled, scoring two runs, and Ava Gingiloski was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Grace Anderson tripled to center field, Jones singled to left field, Rovner doubled to center field, Gingiloski walked, and Mary Maltese walked, each scoring one run.

Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures added one run in the third. Rovner grounded out, making the score 16-0.

Walker earned the win for Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out eight and walking none. #99 began the game for Cardinal Mooney Catholic. Sasha Walker Drives In 4 To Lead Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures Past Cardinal Mooney Catholic

Sasha Walker drove in four runs on one hit to lead Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures past Cardinal Mooney Catholic 14-0 on Thursday. Walker hit a home run to center field in the first inning, scoring two runs, and walked in the fourth inning, scoring one.

Elanor Barnes struck out 10 batters on the day. The pitcher also allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings while walking two.

Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Emma Behnke was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Barnes singled, scoring one run, Ava Gingiloski singled, scoring two runs, Zemma Kenny singled, scoring two runs, Abbey Jones doubled, scoring one run, Leah Rovner grounded out, scoring one run, and Walker homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jones scored after tagging up, Behnke singled to left field, and Gingiloski singled to center field, each scoring one run.

#7 led things off in the circle for Cardinal Mooney Catholic. The hurler surrendered 15 hits and 14 runs over three innings, striking out three and walking five.

Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures tallied 15 hits in the game. Jones set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Bishop Foley Varsity Ventures with four hits in four at bats.
